DanPilot establishes new pilot company in Greenland
Your Time, Your Safety - Our Commitment
DanPilot establishes new pilot company in Greenland and will be offering its
specialised pilot services in the Arctic area from the newly established subsidiary DanPilot Greenland under the leadership of Peer Bøje Brandenborg.
The foundation of DanPilot Greenland is a natural extension of the company's desire to increase its presence in Greenland and thus get even closer to customers, authorities and other players in the Greenlandic market.
The pilot company will have its home address in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital, from where piloting services will be offered to ships in Greenland, both those that are subject to compulsory pilotage and those that are not. Someone who is already well-known in Nuuk is the subsidiary's new CEO Peer Bøje Brandenborg, who has previously been the CEO of Greenland Pilot Service and Director of Arctic Operations at DanPilot.
“I am very proud to head up DanPilot's new Greenlandic company. Our certified pilots have a total of 200+ years of experience between them in Arctic sailing - including special insight into and knowledge of Greenlandic waters,” says Brandenborg, CEO of DanPilot Greenland.
The pilots in DanPilot Greenland also meet the requirements of the Polar Code, the international regulatory framework under the IMO, which protects polar regions from maritime risks, including the Advanced Polar Code Certificate, and meets a number of other educational requirements from the Danish Maritime Authority.
Has always been in Greenland
Since the liquidation of the former subsidiary in Greenland, DanPilot has been providing piloting in the Arctic area directly through DanPilot. During this period, Peer Bøje Brandenborg was also DanPilot's anchorman in Nuuk, and he is now joined by a number of former and new colleagues in the newly established subsidiary.
“We have always been able to provide piloting in Greenland, and I am delighted that we can now return with a new Greenlandic company, so that we can also provide safety at sea and a high-quality piloting service to all the ships that want it,” concludes Brandenborg, CEO of DanPilot Greenland.
