How to order pilotage
It is easy to book pilotage at DanPilot!
DanPilot’s booking and service centre is available 24/7 every day, throughout the year. You can book a pilot or receive answer on any question regarding pilotage in Denmark whenever you need it. Our booking and service centre is your single point of contact.
From the moment your request is received until the pilot disembarks the operator handles all communication and logistics so you as a customer experience the smoothest and most efficient operation. The centre uses systems especially designed for order handling and selection of the proper pilot for the task. This ensures that we always deliver a pilot well-suited for the task at the time you require. It is also your guarantee that the pilots from DanPilot at all times work in accordance with the regulation on rest hours and possess all the certificates required for the task.
The booking and service centre is reached by e-mail, telephone and VHF channel 87 and will answer your request fast and precisely. As the time for the commencement of the operation draws near, the position and speed of the vessel are monitored to ensure the pilot is ready at the desired position at requested time.
The operators of DanPilot have more than 160 pilots at their disposal and perform more than 20,000 operations yearly. This immense preparedness and the many competences available ensure that we can deliver the pilot every time and that we have the competences for even the most specialized operations at hand.
Transit Pilotage - How to order
All requests must be given to DanPilot at least 18 hours prior to ETA.
Requests can be sent using DanPilot's price calculator or by e-mail: danpilot@danpilot.dk
If the request is sent by e-mail the following information must be provided:
a) the name, call signal and IMO number of the vessel,
b) the gross tonnage, length, width, draught and speed of the vessel,
c) the type of cargo including IBC codes,
d) the ship's expected arrival time at the place from which pilotage is desired,
e) the place to which pilotage is desired,
f) any faults and/or deficiencies relevant for the manoeuvrability of the vessel,
g) the contact details of the person or company sending the request,
h) information regarding form of payment
Please include additional relevant information, e.g. regarding planned bunkering or if stores are to be taken aboard during the passage and inform about geographical location and expected duration.
Port Pilotage - How to order
All requests must be given to DanPilot at least 24 hours prior to ETA and at least 4 hours prior to ETD.

Service trips and crew changes with the pilot boat
DanPilot offer service trips and crew changes in connection with pilotages.
Please contact us in order to request a service trip or crew change or ask for more information and prices at customer@danpilot.dk or danpilot@danpilot.dk
The request should contain the following:
Nature of service trip:
- Parcels: Size of parcel and content (Maximum 15kg)
- Crew change: Number of on- / offsigners
As well as:
- vessel name, call sign and IMO number
- ETA at the position where the service tripmust be performed
- contact details
- payers details
Transportation of person(s) to and from vessels by DanPilot, is conducted under strict adherence to the governing regulations set forth in the applicable legislation. When transporting individuals from countries which require official permission to enter the state of Denmark, e.g. visa or other forms of approval from the relevant authorities, it is the full responsibility of the vessel, or the representative of the vessel, to ensure that all necessary approvals are obtained from the relevant authorities, no later than upon ordering the transportation of such individual(s). DanPilot does not provide assistance in obtaining the necessary approvals or documents, and will only transport individuals legally permitted to enter the state of Denmark, and only the specific port stated on the approval(s) from the relevant authorities.
